    That Dobe is loose again

I have only just taken out Pereg's staples from the last time that Dobe attacked her - which was when the blank blank who owns it deliberately let it off leash on 24 January - and it is loose again. No sign of its owner - it is just running loose as it has done more than a few times in the past. Has caused a number of near accidents when cars have tried to avoid it, more than one ending up in the drainage ditch.

And that ess oh dee ing Dobe is out loose again.

Tina, that Dobe is frequently getting loose and causing havoc. It attacked Pereg when his owner deliberately let it off lead, knowing that it could get to her before I could get her in.

This time is yet another occasion when it gets loose and causes havoc.

It is still outside rushing around .

    Gazmo and CaroleC like this.
Have you got a garden hose? Squirt him full in the face, the owner too if he ever turns up.

No, I do not have an outside hose but that is immaterial. I mean when I open my door, with my dog clipped onto a strong tether, am I supposed to see a loose dog running when it is dark before I open the door?

When that Dobe - and you should know I have nothing about the breed because I loved yours Shirley, even though I did not know them - but I still loved them- it is not a breed thing, but when that Dobe attacked Pereg it was a deliberate action by its owner by letting it off leash as soon as I saw I opened the door to let her out. And it is a regular a fairly regular thing that it gets loose and gallops along the road around the Moshav causing havoc.

Do you think it is time for you to mention this to the local police, Malka? A firm reprimand from them might make the man more careful. If this dog is so out of control, how long before it attacks another dog - or even a young child?

@CaroleC - we do not have "local" police. The nearest police are in town and the last thing they are interested in is a dog running loose on the Moshav. Do not ask but they will not even get off their butts if a house is being broken into here. All of 15-20 minutes out or town?

I do not know who the owner is or where he lives - just that he lives somewhere up the road.

And I know that Dobe. There are only two two Dobes on the Moshav and I have not seen the other older one for a few years. I think it was a guard dog but as I say, I have not seen it for quite a while.

I know this one from when it first appeared with its ears just cropped and bandaged. Tail cropped to its anus and ears bandaged.

And I know it was the one who that blank blank let off its leash to attack Pereg on 24 January. I watched him do it and watched him laugh when it came into my yard and attacked my girl.

And that Dobe was loose again yesterday evening

That is worrying Malka, especially when you are not fit enough to do a great deal to help Pereg if there was ever another attack. Of course I do not know the detail of how your local services operate, but it does not seem fair that you should have to fear the presence of an aggressive loose dog, or the possibility of another attack your own innocent girl.

There are ways to get the best of an aggressive dog. One thing you can do is put some ammonia in a spray bottle that shoots out a narrow stream. You only have to wet the dogs neck and the fumes will make it run away but won't hurt him. Knock down spray for bees works well, too, and sprays about 15 feet. I've used both with good results, but you have to try not to hit the dog full in the face or eyes. To many it sounds cruel. But what is the lesser of two evils? Your child or gentle dog getting tore up or the aggressive dog being uncomfortable for a little while. Can't say what to do about the owner!

Ammonia and a squirt gun, will work wonders.

It's what I used, few months ago when I had a couple DA GSD's down the street.
They had tried to attack Mouse twice before I got it, was not worried about Mouse so much as him breaking one of them.
He power slammed one of them the 2nd time they attacked, the dog screamed so loud, I thought he had broken something on it.
