    Terrible teens

    DOG-Male English springer spaniel
    AGE-3

Hi everyone, dont know if this apply's to all dogs or just springers!! murph was always a good dog, learning and picking up things very quickly!! just lately though i find myself raising my voice for him to come back to me or to walk beside me!! when he was a pup and up until about 2 months ago all i had to do was whitle and point!! i hate raising my voice as i think you look like a plank to other dog walkers!!! i know he can hear me as he slows down from what ever hes's doing, but it always seems i have to repeat myself getting louder and louder!!!! ive heard before about terrible twos but thought it was just rubbish!!! has anyone had the same problem???

    hi
my 7 yr old springer has always had selective hearing he sometimes spoils the walk as i sound like a fishwife calling him back my other springer has always been excellent but last week she decided first time in her life to go off and not come straight back which panicked me as she also comes back.

Hi, I also have a springer with selective deafness:lol: she is young yet though (101/2 months) and I agree it is very frustrating to say the least!
My wee lab is excellent at coming back as was my previous lab.
I have to be very selective about letting her off lead for safety reasons and do still use a long line sometimes but I live in hope that it will improve;-)
