'Stay' NO . . tricks YES!!!

Ella loves to learn tricks! I have been working on stay for weeks and she still finds it really hard. Fun stuff like paw, beg speak ect she picks up after a couple of goes. Typical youngster only wants to do the fun stuff. :p

Just wondered is anyone else has a NI that loves to perform or has found tricks easier to train then basic stuff. She does however have a very good recall that puts other dogs (and often Cassie) in the park to shame!

Shila prefers the basic's but does do some tricks and she did get them quite easily when i think about
Isis on the other hand doesn't see why she should do them as they dont benefit her  She does sit and down and paw but anything else no way

Well now when Ella wants attention and isn't getting it she goes through her whole repotoire (spelling??). It so funny to watch her sit, paw, bark, beg, down, roll over then bark some more!!

Isis sounds like my husky, she is very intelligent and knows what the command means. You can see her working out if it would be worth while doing what was asked and what the benifits might be LOL.

Does it have to be an NI?

My border collie loves learning tricks, but just doesn't have the same enthusiasm for his comp obed stuff, like heelwork! I've found that if I approach it in the same way, and try and make it a bit more fun, he's really eager.

You'll have to get videos of her tricks!

No it doesn't have to just be NI, i was just interested more in NI as thats the breed of my dog.

I'll see what i can do over the weekend, Will try to make the boring stuff more fun as well! But Ella just isn't very good at sitting still in any circumstances!
