Its another hot day here in Derbyshire & I saw a young 9 to 12 months old husky type dog being dragged along the pavement by its owner who was riding a bike, this young dog was exhausted & was trying to sit & to stop running, but his owners just carried on cycling dragging the poor dog behind the bike, a few people were yelling at the owner to stop as his dog was tired, but they were verbally abused by the owner who was yelling its a &% €£$#@ sled dog they don't get tired, then after a few more heated exchanges between the owner & some people at the bus stop, a teenage boy grabbed the back wheel of the bike causing the bike to stop & the rider to fall over the handle bars, resulting in him splitting his chin, lip open (big cheer went up from people at bus stop) the teenage boy started pouring water out of his bottle onto the side of the dogs mouth, I phoned the dog warden up who came out within 10 minutes of me phoning them (must of been in park to get there that quick) & they took the dog to a nearby vets. Yes these breed of dogs do run & pull sleighs, but in cooler conditions ie in snow, not in boiling hot weather & am sure not young 9 to 12 month old dogs, this poor dog just lay there on the pavement with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth, never even moved when the dog warden picked him up.
Poor dog. I don't treat dogs like that but how is making someone fall off their bike and badly injure themselves a good thing (cheering)? Also, you'd be smart to never try that here, people have lost their lives for much less. But then, most people here don't much care about dogs.
Poor puppy, such a heavy coat for these conditions, quite apart from the forced exercising. I hope the Husky recovers OK. I also hope that the lad that stopped the bike doesn't end up being the one in trouble.
No the guy stayed on the floor, he made no attempt in getting up, even when the dog wardens turned up he stayed on the pavement, he just gave the wardens his name/address, he only got up after the wardens had left. Grabbing back wheels of bikes is quick & affected way of stopping bikes, police officer's & park rangers have been doing it for years, no one as died from grabbing the back wheels, it just makes them stop dead, (unfortunately the guy was standing up when the teenager grabbed the back wheel, causing him to go over handle bars)
I meant that people here can get extremely angry and injuring someone in such a manner can cost you your life if he has a gun or cause many injuries if he is able to get up and start a fight or if there were others with him. People have been shot for merely tarnishing another's shoes here. It absolutely isn't smart to do what the teenager did if you live here. Over there it's safe to cause injury to someone older and larger than you I suppose. Over here it is not.
Good heavens. I'd hate to think that you could be shot just for annoying someone. Just shows how lucky we are this side of the pond. I do agree that causing the guy on the bike injury was very, very unfortunate and I hope that he is recovered with a lesson learned. I also hope the poor dog is OK and that he ends up with an owner that won't be so stupid
Update someone as posted a video of the owner riding bike dragging dog behind him on the Facebook, it shows several people (you can see me standing in front of Iceland on phone) trying to stop the owner & the teenager stopping bike, (shows how the owner ended up going over handlebars) there is also several photo's showing same owner dragging the dog behind his car in Tesco car park (he had tied the dog's lead to tow bar) earlier in the day. Someone claiming to be the owners next door neighbour, as put on Facebook that his neighbour brought the dog in December & the dog is called Echo & is a Husky cross. From what I have read on Facebook the Huskies welfare group are trying to rescue the dog from owner & are asking for more photo's/videos they can use as evidence that the dog is being abused. Last time I looked on Facebook there were over 1500 comments & been shared 4000 times, some of the comments have been deleted by I assume Facebook due to what had been written. Doesn't say where or who as dog at moment.
That's why gun control laws over there are absolutely insane and dangerous! It's not safe to cause injury or harm to anyone as there is always the risk of backlash from the offended party, and I personally don't agree with how this owner was stopped/confronted, but sometimes you have to take desperate measures to prevent harm being done to someone whether that be human or pet.
No it was on Facebook yesterday but this morning it says: Attachment Unavailable This attachment may have been removed by us or the person that shared it may not have permission to share with you.
