I asked about the working type a while ago, but what about the show type Are they as 'manic/busy' as the workers and springers?
I have a show cocker, she has a lot of energy but i wouldn't say as much as a working one or springer spaniel. my show cocker is happy to run and play all day and go for the longest walks and runs ever , or if i could only give her one short walk for whatever reason she is just as happy and won't be manic in the house and bouncing off the walls! she would just be happy to be with you and have cuddles all day
Awww she is lovely! xxxx I do love cockers we used to have a lovely blur roan when i was little called lucy. She was a bit of a madam but no where near as mad as my father in laws working cocker.
I walk a show cocker have to be honest it's so boring! lol he would much rather lie on the sofa all day! But then I'm more used to big bouncy dogs. And I doubt that they are all the same as this one.
When I had Ben he was quite happy to go for a walk at any time, but settled down in the house well too, although he did follow me around from room from room constantly I've looked after a show/worker mix cocker a couple of times and he is much more energetic than Ben was but he's just as good natured. Ben didn't have a thick coat like some show dogs so the grooming wasn't too bad either. I'll probably get another cocker in the future, great little dogs
Hi I am Mum to Bob, he is a 5 year old English cocker, solid black, show type He loves going out for walks/runs most days we go for an off lead run in the woods before work, then at lunch time we go for a walk in the wildlife park, he has to stay on lead there, some time we go to the beach for a swim he loves the water, On a Monday night we go to Agility classes, which he loves, and on a Sunday we go to a general training club, he comes to work with me every day. If i do not have time to take him out he is fine, he does not worry about it, But he would prefer an active life. They are busy friendly little dogs; they don’t often take their noises off the ground And there are constantly wagging their tails, they love their food, they are joyful, energetic and full of life [/IMG][/IMG]
