    Well the Japanese used them to babysit their children whilst the parents worked in the fields! I think just like any breed if not raised right then they can be dangerous. :razz:

    Since I have just posted about my akita because I'm nervous about her being around the baby I'm expecting, this is very reassuring.

    So sweet! Our boy was born with a love for children. Our son is big (13) so they play like litter mates and it's so cute but if he sees a small child or baby he whines to see them and is very gentle. He seems to know who/when to play rough and who to be gentle with. I think in general Akitas love children but like all dogs they're a case by case basis.
