I like both breeds and when I was in Essex I went to the same ringcraft class as one of the original importers. I thought their dogs were fab. Becky
the welsh in origin an the breeder was captain edwards of sealyham in pembrokeshire,and any puppy that showed any sign of been scared was immediately shot so they say.
I think that happened a lot with many breeds in the past, if they didn't make the grade they were 'disposed' of! One reason why genetic disorders weren't really apparent until relatively modern times. Becky
I know this is an old thread - but if you are still interested in Cesky Terriers I was one of the original importers (the people in Essex started with one of the pups from my second litter), so have had them for twenty years. Glad to help if there is anything specific you want to know.
I groom a Sealyham for a lady down here - she has shown and bred fro years but now has bad fingers and finds it hard to groom the dog. She has a big attitude but has a fantastic temperment. Great with other dogs and people.
Hard to say as I met them working in a vets so it often brings out the worst! The owners struggled to control them and were frightened of them themselves. Despite appearances they are quite large really, I would suggest they are for experienced terrier owners rather than novices
