There are big 5 foot signs at all entrances to park saying "">FROM 3RD MONDAY IN JUNE UNTIL 2ND MONDAY IN SEPTEMBER ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON THEIR LEADS FROM 08:00 TO 20:00" this is for when the brats are off school, there are also 4 foot signs fasten on each gates to the children's play area saying "">NO SMOKING IN THIS AREA" "">PLEASE WATCH YOUR CHILDREN ALL THE TIME" I am on my way to the library which is in the park when I heard a almighty rumpus & being so nosey decided to have a look & saw 2 women having a slanging match with 2 PCSO 's trying to separate them, (those who don't live in England PCSO's are police community support officers) I then saw Ian the park ranger & Mark the dog warden standing together watching so went up to them & asked what's going on, Mark said the child of the woman with hardly any clothes on got bitten by the dog of the woman in pink, so I asked how did it happen & Ian said the child ran out of the play area jumped on the dog from behind (mum was smoking & on mobile not watching her child) the dog then turned & bitten the child just below the eye,(dog was off lead) I then asked so where is the child & dog now Mark said Tracey (2nd dog warden) has the dog in my van & don't worry all the van doors are open, Ian said the child is in my car being treated by paramedic, so here we have 2 "adults" yelling very colourful language blaming each other for the attack so much that they were not bothered where their child/dog was, all the time they were being filmed by teenage brats on their mobiles. Both parent & owner are to blame here as all the signs can't be miss, the ones on all entrances are clear enough & can be seen clearly, this also goes to the signs on all the gates to the children's play area, they are in your face being fasten to the gates themselves. Has for the so called "adults" the real police turned up & arrested them both for breach of the peace & now both have been banned from the park for next 6 months. Its simple the signs are there for a reason that's to prevent children/dogs being attacked during the school holiday, they are there to be obeyed not ignored.
Crikey - no need to watch the telly if you live in your neck of the woods - just go to the local park instead for entertainment. Hope that the bite wasn't serious and that it doesn't leave any scars. What will happen to the dog?
Ian said the bite looked worst then it was due to amount of blood, the paramedic called the father of little girl who came & picked her up, as for the dog no idea but am guessing as owner was arrested Mark would of took the dog to the council kennels (dog was a Corgi X GSD) Mark as already said it was not the dogs fault, he said no dog likes being jumped on from behind.
Here we've had the same situation at the local dog park. I used to go quite often when Sophie was young. There was one dog with the unfortunate name of Lucky. He was probably a Pit/Rottie mix, challenging every male canine or human in the park. When people would confront the knucklehead owners they would say " Oh we're trying to socialize him". Two young men with a big powerful dog they couldn't control, what could possibly go wrong? Finally one day we watched them from the small dog side. Sophie hadn't become dog aggressive yet and was welcome to play. I watched as Lucky pulled down his owners and started a multi dog fight. The sheriff's department showed up and we didn't see poor Lucky again. Some people are too stupid to be allowed to own a dog.
Poor Lucky. With different owners his story would probably have been very different. I'm worried about what the outcome will be for the dog Tina was telling us about. I imagine a child being bitten on the face will be taken very seriously.
