    Remember Them.

    They Shall Not Grow Old
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month - Armistice Day

    When the guns stopped.

But it is always commemorated on the nearest Sunday so it is today.

I am wearing my red poppy, my purple poppy, and my Father's dogtags from WWII.

And although I rarely switch on my television it will be on and I will get off my chair and stand for that two minutes silence.

Because I have always done so.

I visited the Animals in War memorial yesterday to lay some flowers, was disappointed that I had to miss the ceremony though. Popped along to the Tower of London too to see the poppies there

Many and various animals were employed to support British and allied forces in wars and campaigns over the centuries and as a result millions died. From the pigeon to the elephant, they all played a vital role in every region of the world, in the cause of human freedom. Their contribution must never be forgotten.

The poppies at the Tower of London were amazing, so many of them, but is sad that to thin every poppy there represented a life that was lost :(

Sorry to say that I have no recollection of the US honoring the animals that served.

There will be another Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph next Sunday and my Father, his two brothers and Mother's brother always marched.

This is a video of part of last year's Service.
