My Anton has a similar straight back to those dogs, but that's about where the similarities end - he's not nearly as slender in build as those dogs or as leggy, has a different head 'type' and isn't sable. I agree, though, gorgeous dogs, interesting to compare them to more recent specimens.
Dodgy colour , but similar body shape, I think? Maybe too long in the body, legs a teeny bit shorter. Isn't that more the working line shape of today?
One at our training class , she doesn't look like these guys, imo. I am referring to the b/w pics. Saying that, there was debate over another dog I liked the look of, the dog in the Lumix camera advert, whether that dog was a Malinios.
I like the old fashioned straight backed heavy set deep muzzled GSD's. Not the weedy pointy muzzled ones with slanty backs you seem to see so much of nowadays. A good reason to get a rescue. You can see the finished result. Scout75's Kofi is my type of GSD.
