No its not horrible as in the poor mites you see in bad cruelty cases Vicki. I did look. Its a pair of 4 year old crosses who we dumped by an Englishwoman in Spain, after having been kept in a flat for 4 years. They are looking for a home together. I pray they get it - and one where they're truly loved
OMG, they look so wrecked, If it had not been for the markings and colour I would have thought they were some sort of terrier cross I hate that hollow empty look they have in there eyes.
It makes me so sad when I see dogs treated as they shouldn't be. I hope they get a decent home, where they are loved and cared for as they should be.
Judging by the colour with the predominance of tawny, I would say that these are possible wolf crosses - my best guess would be Sibe x wolf cross. I would doubt very much that these are just straightforward NI's cross Sibe, there is some wolf in there, or possiblyGSD, but my money would be wolf because of the relative smallness of the ears. There is no other way that much tawny could happen, IMO.
Hmm, just had another look, the ears are bigger than I first thought. Legs and colouring point towards some wolf. They are beautiful dogs ... as Shona says, they have a story to tell and it ain't pleasant, poor darlings. I'd love to consider taking them on, but I know what my OH will say, so there's no point even thinking about it.
Oh they are gorgeous, I think they look a bit lurcher' ish, may look different when they have filled out a bit!
GSD for the colouring seems likely. Lurcher crossed my mind too: but there is just a hint of something else? Border terrier anyone?
I know! We missed out recently on rescuing a son of Hal. He has gone to a friend of our's who is giving the dog an absolutely brilliant home, but I go green whenever I see this beautiful boy. OH just would not consider adopting him. At the end of the day, I firmly believe that if one half is not keen on a particular dog, then it is not fair to the dog to go ahead and ignore that partner's feelings. I could have done just that, but it could then have gone belly up for the dog and he would have found himself back on the rescue list. Not fair.
I know what you mean about the lurcher look ... I still say wolf though. Look at the legs, usually only wolves or high ? wolf crosses have legs like that. I keep going back cold as it were to try to clear my mind of any preconceived ideas, but I still see wolf there. I may be entirely wrong, because when you shuffle up the genes you often get a throwback look of the wolf ancient ancestry coming out. I would need to actually meet the dogs to form a more definite idea. I just hope they end up in a good home .. perhaps I should go to work on OH over christmas !! Ho ho ho and all that !!!
