    Ponderings about ESS Pedigree.

    Hiya all
I was just sorting through Tiggers vaccination record etc and came across his pedigree information that the breeder had given me. (She gave me two separate ones, one for the sire and one for her bitch)It occurred to me that although Tigs is KC Registered, I wouldnt *really* know what a good Pedigree is.
Are there certain respected names to look out for on ESS pedigrees?

I don't mind if Tigs pedigree is not top notch tbh just as long as the breeders through the years have done their bit to check for hereditry disease etc.

Just thought to myself 'I know who *would* know about this, and its those lot on Dogsey!'

    8)
I can post some details of Tigs pedigree if that helps any experts out there.

Ooh, is this one of those questions that youre not supposed to ask?

Has anyone any links that could point me in the general direction then? :smt002
Tiggers grandfather was a FTCH whatever all that is (Im assured it is good :? ) and his aunt (does it work like that in pedigrees) is doing quite well in trials somewhere.
Trouble Im having is, when I search for Tigs sire nothing comes up although the rest of the litter can be brought up online-does anyone know why that might be?

No feel free to ask the question, but perhaps no one knows the answer ;)

The Sire may not come up when you do a search on him, might be a) cos the owners havent submitted any details on the 'net, b) cos you arent lookign in the right place...actually there could be any number of reasons and none of them sinister.

I would advise you to start your research by asking Tiggers breeder, they really should be your first port of call.
As a breeder I am delighted when someone is interested in my lines and the history behind them, and I am sure Tiggs breeder would be too....at least they ought to be able to point you in the right direction.

    Hi
His sire is Edwardiana Tango and his dam Symbol Of Love.

    thandi,
Yes I suspect I have a paranoid streak! It just seems strange that when Ive found, say for instance, one of Edwardianas littermates listed as having won something, it always lists the dam and sire and sometimes lists the rest of the littermates. Edwardiana Tango is never listed in that list, which made me wonder why he was left out of it.
Im not supposed to add links am I? If I can I will link a results page which shows the litter list without him.

Re: Tiggers breeder. Good idea of course, although I didn't get over friendly/competant vibes when I returned there over something when he was a few weeks with us. Thats why I turned to the web and you lot. :)

    Thanks everyone.

What sorta affix names has he got on his pedigree?
Ralph has a lot of Rytex, Badgercourt. Marshbrook and Windmillwood blood in him...there are a fair few other dogs in his blood too, but these are the ones that seem too crop up most in his pedigree.
Don't worry-no records of Ralph's dam, Gayener Tricky Woo At Rickelener, exists on the net to my knowledge!
Ralph has 18 FTCH in his blood, aswell as 3 Show champs!

    Hi Luke

Well Tiggers sire: Edwardiana Tangos: sire Laganmill Malvern, dam Toonarmy Torrent. Both of those are reported as being FTC, which I now know to mean Field Trial Champion. :smt002 Most of the names appear to be Badgercourt.

Tiggers dam :Symbol of love: sire Marlborough Minstrel dam: Paris Match. Lots of Badgercourt in this side too except no FTW since great grandparents on his mums side. There are 20 in total but no show ones, so I guess I know which kind Tigs is. LOL It also seems a lot of them are Irish Field Trial Champions so I dont know if they count, they dont appear to be listed on Tigs main pedigree, only on Ed Tangos copied one.

His KC affix was awarded by the KC as the breeder 'couldnt think of any names' so its Kenmillix Lactarious, which to me sounds like something Louis Pasteur would be interested in cultivating!

I must admit that Im finding all this fascinating. It also appears that Tigs sire and dam share a great grand parent in the name of Badgercourt Druid. LOL

    Hi Tigger,
Just came across your post - you may have had more answers to it by now - I guess Tigger's dad is like my own Alfie's parents - they've got a good FTCh pedigree but haven't competed themselves or produced any FTChampions, hence why they don't appear on the major pedigrees that you get online for example.

If it's any help Tango's brother and sister Edwardiana Tempest and Tweed - Tweed is an English Field Champion and Tempest's son is also a Field Champion, so it sounds like a pretty good pedigree to me.

Alfie's got lots of Badgercourt in him too (and a Tigger, who like Tango isn't listed!). He's a great chap.
