Pictures. Cropping, file size and captions

The first picture shows your basic files and devices. Where you find pictures you wish to upload.
The SDHC is my camera card.
Simple thing is it is pretty easy to change the file size, so when you upload pictures to this site or another site you actually want a smaller file size due to the fact you want poeple to be able to view them.
picture 2 is just showing the files inside the SDHC file
picture 3 is inside the DCIM
picture 4 the actual image files
picture 5 shows the actual image size 5,909,849 bytes, or 5771.33 kilobytes or 5.636 megabytes
dial up is 56kbps, dsl 128kbps to 3mps ,adsl 768kbits to 6mps, broadband 1.5mps to 125mps, key to all these speeds most image storage sites only allow 1 to 2mps access. So while they people which is most likely 90%+ it takes only a second or 10 for a page to load, those with dialup or a lower end dsl it could be up to a minute and a half for each image to load.
Picture 6 picture of, of course mouse and as you can see i have thousands of them lol. At the top you see a tab that says open. If you click on it you can open with Paint. Also if you right click on a image after you click on the DCIM file and get images. it will give you a menu that give the option to open with. From here you can also open with Paint.
picture 7 give you the pitcure in paint in its actual size. 2nd colum to the from the left you will see resize.
picture 8 shows menu it gives.
picture 9 changing it to 30% pize.
    picture 10 result of resize.
    picture 11 resized image
picture 12 new file size with resize and new image file type. (Jpeg is file type saved in) now dialup can view the image in about 3 secs vs 1.5 minutes.
    Captions
Picture 10 the letter A to the left, by clicking it the onto the photo in Paint. you can add text to you photo.
Picture 13 text alway new options once you click on the picture to adjust color and size of text.
    Hopes this helps some.

Any questions plz asked I can most likely answer them with listed images and if you notice the page still load fast because all of them have smaller file sizes.

LMost and Tina, I have tried searching and I can't find Windows Paint anywhere on my PC. I'm running Win 7 - is it something I would have to purchase? I'm sure it used to be installed on my old Win 3 and 3.2 pc's. My OH has Win 8 on his laptop, perhaps he might have it, I'll ask him tomorrow.

With windows 95 to windows 7
Go to start and click on it. (Lower left side)
once it opens go to programs and click on it.
Once programs is open got to folder called "accessories" and click on it.
Search this folder should have Paint listed in it. Click on it and it will open.

    Windows 8
drag mouse to upper right hand side, once magnifying glass icon shows click on it, and type paint into it and it will show up in list.
Cli9ck on it and will open.

I'm feeling very foolish as my OH found it straight away - as you said LMost, it was there in Accessories. I had put, 'Windows Paint' into the search box, which said that there were no matches. Thank you both, @LMost and @6JRT's , something else to play with.

I use Adobe Elements 11 or in below elements 10. There is a lot more one can do with that such as blur a background and just highlight an image as just one example if you watch my video

Not to mention stitching, restoring old photos etc etc
