    Pet Insurance some real numbers.

    Well last 3 weeks
    Blood test -$200
    Antibiotic -$100
Normal visit charge-$50.00 three would have been $150.00
    Ear Swaps-$20.00 (2 done so $40.00)
    Meds = 75% off
    So total $490.00 + $60.00 1 1st script and $32.00 2nd script
    Grand total $582.00
    My cost $23.00
    $42 x 12 = $504.00 + $23.00 = $527.00
So with next visit in 2 weeks and another $50.00 to make it $632.00 it will save me $105.00 and it is July. And we still have 2 free nail trimming if I use them.
So yes I would advise getting it if you decide on getting a puppy.
Granted last year was $25.00 a month for 1st year or $400.00 minus 3 visits $150.00 leaving $250.00 in red, then 3 nail trims $20.00 each so $190.00 minus around $55 dollars for shots leaving $135.00, and another appiontment $50.00 so $85.00 (sorry just remeber that visit.)
Also there puppy plan covered the bonus of free heartworm and flea meds for the first year another $240.00 if I remember right, so saved 155.00 last year.
So, so far $927.00 has actually saved me $260.00 dollars
And hey there is 5 1/2 months left in this year.
So why doesn't everyone invest in it? Trust me I liked paying $23.00 today rather than $202.00 today.
With current issue no matter what it costs, I just hope Mouse is fine in the end, but I figured I would post to show how it helps and I figure with could be real issues for some who may have money issues.

Wait is everything okay with Mouse! Did I miss something?

I think if pet insurance works great. But it's like people insurance if you need it good to have, if you don't you're getting screwed.

If you have a high vet I can see how bills would stack up. $100 antibiotics? What type?

I did not have pet insurance for Pereg because there was none when I got her. Had there been I still do not know whether I would have got it. Had there been and had I got it it would have saved me a fortune when she developed epilepsy.

Now, with a very young puppy and, I think, pet insurance available, do I insure her or not?

    It's a,matter of personal preference.

I've not had a dog that warranted it but others have saved loads.
