On the last day of Parliament 83 MP's supported the long overdue call for
animal experimenters to justify their claims. In spite of a hugely successful petition, these scientists have managed to delay their appearance in Parliamentary debate by claiming that they have nobody who is prepared to act as a spokesman. There is a site where you can check your standing MP's voting record on animal friendly legislation at,
    voteforanimals.org.uk

Flippin' 'eck - you have even more parties than we have here, only here we have proportional representation in that you vote for the party, not for an individual. Actually we have two votes, one for the party and one for the PM.

And as yet the parties here are still trying to form yet another coalition government. SIGH

Way back when I was still in the UK there were just three parties. Conservative, Labour, and Liberal. Father always voted Conservative, well he would because he was a snob, and Mother always voted Liberal. Me? I cannot remember which party I voted for.

How come things have changed so much in 30 years?

In "them there days" it was amazing how politics could divide a family! My father's parents and sisters didn't like my mother and considered her to "above herself" because her father ran the local Conservative Club and they all voted Labour!

In Hungary there are 9 main political parties all of whom have seats in Parliament, plus 12 others, most of whom I've never heard of!

The parents never discussed politics, Father thinking that the subject was way below him - well I did say he was a snob. I think that Mother voted Liberal just to defy him. Lord only knows what Father would have said if she voted Labour.

So where did all these new [to me] parties come from?

I think people have to think very hard who they vote for this time, the last thing we need is for the SNP holding us to ransom, and that is a real possibility if we vote labour.....

I think we will end up with a coalition again, worrying times !!
