One for the toy folks, biiig variety in poms.

Nipped to crufts for a few hours today to check out the toys and utility. Despite getting sucked in to discover dogs and falling in love with cresteds and tibetan spaniels  I spent some time at the pom ring. Such a wide variety of dogs, my question was "why is this so", was chatting to a very friendly observer who wasn't showing but owns the breed, and the response I got was "theres pet quality, and there's show quality. And show quality can vary greatly depending on who you are". Not really sure what to take from that. But they varied greatly if im honest ranging from slightly larger more "toy spitz" type poms (imo the real deal, totall unbias as I have one thats more to this type:wink:), ranging through to dogs no bigger than chi's with too much coat and hardly ANY muzzle at all and SUCH broad heads.
I'm a big novice concerning toys, but is it "normal" to have such a variety?:? I noticed it in parts of the crested ring too. But some of these really small, broad headed poms were really something I'm not used too. And some of the dogs didn't look like the same breed. I had heard from some in previous months that they are getting smaller and flashier, but I didn't think this much.
I'm glad to be back with my pom with his oversized ears
as a sidenote I really liked seeing some of the parti imports today!
