Warning: contains disturbing footage http://www.newsdzezimbabwe.co.uk/2014/11/video-maid-beats-up-child.html
I don't think I could bear to watch it either. I haunts me when I've seen footage of secret cameras recording so-called carers abusing old people or people with learning difficulties. The front page of our local paper this week carries a story about a nurse found ill-treating and ridiculing people with dementia at our local nursing home - luckily she was reported by other members of staff very quickly.

Yes, I suppose we should know what can happen, but unfortunately you can't 'unsee' these things, and the images haunt you.
Yes its scary, guess its been going on for years but with more technology they are being found out, I just don't get why people take these kind of jobs if they cant cope and feel the need to be horrible.
Gah, I saw the video...and have worked in daycare...and seen some really bad things happen. Thankfully my children are all grown now but from what I've seen I would be wary of ANY day care center or caregiver. You really don't know what's going on. There was a certified center nearby and since sold. I worked there not even a month. Two toys for ten children, both broken. During naptime you had to keep the babies silent or face the wrath of the other teachers. Toddlers verbally flogged for not eating "on time". The staff was overworked and underpaid...and this place was a chain that was state certified. Horrible
