    Northern Inuits - Crosses?

On another thread I have had my wrist slapped for say that NI are crosses, rose tinted glasses off. thats what they are. :? :?
I don't understand what the problem is, What else would they be, could someone enlighten me
I have Huskies for years and was really upset when I saw a so called inuit litter with my affix in it, and the hip scores were really high,
I ask you, if you had been in an established pedigree breed for years and spent thousands importing bloodlines and doing the proper health checks to see
Adverts for wolf lookalikes. husky/gsd/etc crosses for sale with papers!!!!! not only heart breaking for us that are trying to help our breed

No not bashing anyone, but have you thought about it from the other side ??
I run a husky rescue and have had at least 2 phonecalls for the bad side of your inuits enquiring about unneutered dogs available, because they need to add a little more sibe to the cross,
I know that there are good and bad in all breeds,
So maybe you should take a look at it and don't take it as a bashing, but a way to educate people,
Why breed a wolf lookalike and not expect people in the breeds you cross not to ask questions

we dont go looking for anything to cross into our dogs as they are pure breed and have been for many years now, we have our own gene poole of Northern inuit dogs PURE to PURE just because we havent got KC (woopey) reco we get frowned at, i for one and i know the NI society would never consider using a husky in the breed again, so maybe it isnt US inuit breeders ringing up for them.
Also if there is such a sibe rehoming problem, why do people carry on breeding them. My friend breeds sibes and is all for our inuits for what they are a pure bred true family dog that comes back to you ;-)

i wondered how long it would take you

    Here we go again!

Northern Inuit's have been bred pure (Northern Inuit to Northern Inuit) for many generations now. We do not accept the crossing of Northern Inuit's with any other breed of dog. The society has worked long & hard to establish type both in looks & temprement. Admittably we are not 100% perfect when it comes to looks but we're getting there.

No reputble Northern Inuit breeder would ever consider adding in more husky and there progeny most certantly wouldn't be registered with the Northern Inuit society.

As for bad hips, I have personally been doing a lot of research into the Northern Inuit hip status and collecting in the scores of all scored Northern Inuit's as well as copies of the dogs BVA certificates as proof of their scores and I can honestly say that from the scores that the breed is doing fabulously well compared to other breeds of the same/similar size.

Terrysibe, if you know of some one producing sibe/NI crosses and passing them off as NI you should inform the relavent body i.e the N.I.S. so the breeder can be removed from the approved breeder list.
As for NI being F1 crosses, I suggest you google Norther Inuit Dog and do a bit of research. There's plenty of information about the breeds background and origins, much more information than there is about the origins of many other older breeds.

It is a big problem for both NI and Ute people that you get people crossing say a GSD with a Sibe or Mal and then advertising it as either an NI or a Ute, alternatively they advertise them as 'wolf look a likes ' (NI or Ute). I can back up what the NI people say, the dogs have pedigrees showing their lines, we know the lines and who they belong to and would definately not want either sibe, mal or gsd putting back in at this stage. Both breeds have got they type of dog they want now so it would really defeat the purpose to back breed

Well said Tawnywolf. As mentioned on several occasions, if you want to be sure of what you are getting and that the dogs are what the breeder says they are all you have to do is ask to see the dam & sire's papers. If your still unsure contact the relevent society(s) they will have a list of all registered affix's so so will be able to advise you if anything is out of place. It also pays to do your research.

There have been countless threads on here about the Northern Inuit . Surely by NOW you would have all the information you require about the breed and where it evolved from .
We are proud of our dogs ..as are you all .
Our hip scores are fine as Angelmist just told you and we have nothing to do with the Inuit Dog Association .
They may cross their dogs but we have (NI Society) been breeding True for many years.
This has all been said before ... Why dont you who started the thread go look at all the NI posts ..
ps...like the emoticons Borderdawn ..says a LOT without having to say anything.
You seem to like these NI threads . You secretly want one dont you ;-)

To be honest I am sometimes quite fed up of the amount of bashing the Utonagans and NI's get. If we set about any other breeds they way we are set about then we would be in serious trouble and probably banned from here. There are lots of times when we start a discussion on something and next minute someone jumps on and has a go, and then the thread is closed! It doesn't happen to any other breed!
Believe you me, people that are serious about their dogs would not go about crossing them with the first dog available!!!!

So true. Its like the Poco thread, someone comes on asking a perfectly innocent question of who a dog is and were all having a nice friendly discussion & then some anti NI person has to come and stick their noses in purely for the sake of causing trouble and its starting to get stupid.

If you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all.
