    Hello, all.
I am an Indiana farmer who has been raising beef cattle all my life . I have two Blue Heelers- one essentially retired- and a Border Collie, all working herding dogs. I have an expanding Katahdin sheep herd. This brings me to the reason for joining this forum. I am soon going to need to move sheep away from my home farm, and will need a livestock guardian dog . I am working at deciding what breed best suits my needs. I’ll be looking around and asking some questions.

Although there is always the off-chance of someone experienced in livestock guardian dogs reading your post, I don't think this will be the most productive site for advice. It is not a typical farming method in the UK. You could try an Aussie forum.

I would try talking to other farmers who are farming that way and see what breeds they recommend. They may even be able to direct you to a good breeder of quality working lines.

Remember, it's not just the breed, it's the individual lines that matter.
