Hi. Just joined and looking for some advice.
I have a 4 year old Border, female, name of Maisie.
I am planning to walk the West Highland Way with her, over a week. A couple of days will be c. 15 - 20 miles each, the rest between 10 and 15 miles.
That's a lot more than she is used to, most days we do 5 or 6 miles spread over 2 or 3 walks. I have had her up some pretty big hills in Scotland, which involved walking for maybe 8 hours, but that would be one day with not too much done the next day. The WHW would be 7 consecutive days of probably 5 to 10 hours walking (including stops) each day.
Having written all this down, I'm thinking it might be too much for her, but what do you think? I would be particularly concerned about her pads.

When are you planning on going?

I think right now, yes it would probably be too much for her even though they are a hardy little breed.

Like us, they need to build up to longer and longer walks and it doesn't sound as though she has been.
