You may remember that Eddie has colonic ulceration, and is on a largely grain free diet. This morning he had his porridge with Actimel, also his rejuvelac and kefir. However, when we were returning across the fields after his walk, he spotted something irresistible - a wild bird seed fat ball in a green plastic net! There was no way he was giving this disgusting object up. When I tried to reach for it he gulped the lot down - including the green plastic net. I've waited all day for him to bring it back, but it looks as if it's going to take the southern route. I dread to think how his gut is going to react...................
Naughty Eddie indeed! I hope it was one of the smaller ones and comes out ok Carole, my dog when we was growing up swallowed a bouncy ball and it was an expensive vet trip to sort it out.
Oh dear naughty eddie. A lab did a similar thing last year at work. I was cleaning so let him in to corridor and he went up to a kennel that had a carrier bag full of treats tied to bars. He grabbed the bag and so did i so he pulled it then swollowed it whole. About 20 treats and a carrier bag. I had a tini bit of bag. So lab 1 katy 0. Went to vets with him and they gave him an injection and he sicked the lot up. He looked so sorry for himself. But when i told the owners they came back the next day with a box of chocs and some flowers for me to say sorry for their dog being naughty and stressing me out. So ended up katy 2 lab 1
I keep asking myself, why didn't I make him sick? He's just done his last poo of the day - no grain, no plastic - and gone to bed, quite unconcerned. I went to PaH yesterday and paid £36 for 10K of Grain Free, is he just taking the wee wee?
Hope Eddie's OK this morning .... why is it that dogs chose the most inconvenient time to do these things??? Have a Happy Easter and keep Eddie away from the Easter eggs!
Typical that he eats something he shouldn't, worries you to death and he doesn't have a care in the world. The net is a bit of a worry apart from his grain intolerance. I have visions of the fat ball gradually melting in his tummy so hopefully the net will slither out at some point in the next few days.
Today the lad presented me with a very compacted green plastic net! Ta Da! No ill effects from either the net or the grain - possibly because they were indigestible. As I think these things are made in China, I dread to think what was in the fat, which he did digest. Ugh! However, all's well that ends well. Thank you for caring.
