I loose count some times too . There is 7 adult whippets 4 whippet pups Dexter is only here as he hasn't yet sold and Jude is staying as she has been seriously ill 2 greyhounds and I also have an irish setter
Lovely dogs, do they all live in the house? How do your greyhounds get on with your whippets? Have you ever had any issues? Do you have a dominant dog that is in charge? Sorry for all the questions!! i have two greyhounds and would love to add a whippet or italian greyhound but always worry about dominance issues and if they would get on size wise etc... Lovely photos.
A friend used to have a small blue whippet/greyhound dog.. I am sure she was foreign( LOL that sounds daft doens't it as in had a county before her breed) She was tiny..a bit like your AMber..but she was gorgeous..any idea what she was..
Hi Yes they do all live in the house. The greyhounds are fine with the whippets. William came from the same breeder as my whippets so he had been socialised with whippets before we had him. Button is good to we also have a semi feral cat who only occasionaly comes into the house but they are fine with him too. The top dog is Tegan none of the others dare argue with her. She is also granny to Nathan and Angel and mother of Amber Simba Dexter and Jude. This is William with my friends italian greyhound Blue. He came to stay with us last year as she had bitches in season and Blue who is 15" tall climbed over 2 6ft fences to get to a bitch in season once we decided 250 miles my stop him getting at the bitches and this is Blue's daughter Alice when she was about 4 months old and we were staying at my friends .It looks like William was trying to eat her but it was more like she was killing him
Must add Tegan weighs 12kg and has had William 40kg on his back screaming blue murder. Why because she had been in season and was all hormonal and he looked at her Louise Amber Simba Dexter and Jude are all litter mates they are 5 month old whippets
Awww, lovely. Looks like the Ig's head would fit completely inside his mouth!! oww!! Your setter looks beautiful too.
Wow I love your dogs especially the whippets . What breeding are they ? I have 3 oldie whippets aged 11, 13 and 15 . I can remember when they were young and beautiful like yours
I have a hankering for a whippet... But then I seem to be getting all dog broody generally at the moment and have to repeat my mantra three dogs is plenty three dogs is plenty
Gorgeous dogs I especially like Bandit ;-) I have 2 whippets, a 5 year old dark brindle girl and a 10 month old blue fawn and white parti colour boy (who's just learnt to cock his leg and is watering absolutely everything at the moment ) Whippets are great dogs and I will always have them in my life
Tegan Owen Bandit and Freyja are all Barnesmore bred as is William. Angel Nathan Simba Amber Dexter and Jude I bred myself. Button is an ex racing greyhound and is by Droopys Vieri
Bandit is my sons dog who uses him for junior handler association classes. At the momen we are not showing him as he is a veteran in february and will start again then my son is using Freyja for JHA classes at the moment
I'm the same at the moment - I'd blame my hormones if I thought any of them were still working Your dogs are absolutely gorgeous. I particularly like (no, that should be love) William - he's a cracker - sorry to hear about his accident. Will he be ok? Thanks for sharing
Aww - beautiful dogs. My friend has 4 whippets that she races and does some freestyle with. Such great dogs
William is fine now thanks. It was my fault I thought the front door was shut but it was windy and the wind must have caught it and stopped it shutting properly. William dashed down the drive and across the road in front of a car. We took him to the vets but our vet was not in and the locum xrayed him and said it was just severe bruising. 4 days later we had to take him back and saw our vet he redid the xrays and said he had radial paraylsis of the shoulder and there was no option but to amputate. We told him to PTS but he wouldn't so we took him home and a friend put me in touch with a greyhound trainer who told me to massage his leg every 2 hours . This we did and 10 weeks later he was completely sound again. He has even made it back into the show ring the vet not calls him William the Wonder Dog. The only problem we have now is no matter what we feed him he will not put any weight on.
