I started a new Pilates class yesterday evening, and met the teacher for the first time. By chance, I bumped into her when I was out with the dogs. 'Oh, hello Pepe' she said. This has happened several times before when I've met other dogs and their owners for the first time - they already know Pepe! He doesn't take himself out for a walk, I hasten to add! My son occasionally takes the dogs out at weekends (though what Pepe does that makes him so memorable I dread to think!)
I must admit that I am guilty of this..........I spot a dog that I recognise and as it and the owner come closer I am looking at and talking to the dog!!
It's funny how we know dogs more than owners I often see dogs out here and I say hello to the dog - and the person walking the dog looks on in bemusement (I've probably seen the dog with another family member).
Dogs can be a brilliant talking point and a reason why dog owners are usually quite sociable.....we cant help but talk about our doglets!
I've lost count of the times when I've been introduced to someone as Barbara and they've come back with "Oh yes .... Chloe's mum"!
