Like miniature prick eared Dobermann Pinschers but much more expensive(£1,500 is what some breeders ask for a show one)
My neighbour has one she is lovely but a bit bossy even though she is very small, and doesn't like the mud or wet,but I think that is her upbringing aswell because she is so small I think they have molly coddled her a bit.She also takes over the house and tends to set the rules. she is nice though and I find her a perfectly amiable little dog.
The Min Pin is the smallest of the pinschers - the others found in G.B are the German Pinscher and the Dobermann. The Dobe was 'grown up ' from the German Pinscher and the Min Pin was 'Shrunk-down'. suppose that they could be best described as being terrier like (Pinscher is the german word for terrier) All the ones I've known tended to be rather noisy and bouncy, for such a small dog they have a very big jump!! Thankyou! Now I know what a min pin is I must say I have had no contact with them, so cant help sorry:? They are nice looking dogs though.
Maybe I'll stick to Dallies. Been offered pick from 4 spotty litters this week without even saying I want to replace Polly (which I don't just yet)
This is Jilly (RIP), miniature pinscher. She dies on 14.7.06 and is sadly missed. She was a fiercely loyal little dog.
Yes she was special, but then they all are to their own human families aren't they? They all have their own wee personalities and traits that make them so loveable to us.
The price of a minpin varies from £450 to £700 depending on who you aquire your miniature pinscher from I'd stir clear of anyone charging £1,500 If you'd like more information on Miniature Pinschers see my web site, where you will also find a link to the British Miniature Pinscher Club
From what I have seen of min pins they are very bouncy, hyper and tend to be snappy. Sometimes being very protective of one person in the family. They are adorable though... Actually a lot of them end up in the shelter here. They are purchased from pet stores and are turned in to shelters because they are "too much" for the family to handle. They do need a lot of attention, exercise and training. They can be great dogs if they have someone who cares enough to train them and exercise them a lot.
