    Looking for greyhound shows/calendar

I am a Greyhound owner, Tiffany, 4 years old, she will never win Crufts but will always be top dog for me, looking for 'friendly' shows for 2010 that I can let her do her socialising with like minded dogs, can anyone direct me to a good site for Greyhound shows/calendars?

Greyhound Gap is one of the best, it also depends on where you are in the country. Cov greyhound organise regular walks and have stalls at dogs trust shows.

I think we also need to see piccies of said beautiful hound.

Also, local dog club shows and county/agricultural shows often have a dog show section.

We took one of my racers over the summer and she was up against some very posh whippets, dachsy's e.t.c in the hound group and she was 4th out 13 which was great and most of all she enjoyed herself!!

    Have fun.

Whereabouts are you? There's the Great Greyhound Gathering in Nottingham every year - September, I think, but Google it to check; and this year there is a Greyhound Extravaganza at Newmarket on 5th June that I will almost certainly be going to.

Otherwise, just check out local charity dog shows. If you are worried about introducing your hound to other breeds at events, just try to hang around dogs of a similar size or muzzle your dog if there are lots of 'tinies' around - the muzzle will do no harm to your dog and will put your mind at rest as, if there is a 'lunging incident', your dog will not be able to do any damage.

I'm certainly not suggesting that your dog is a trouble-maker, just trying to cover all of your concerns.

Have fun with your hound - I hope you have no problems with socialisation - many greyhounds are absolutely fine with other breeds.
