You've had the best advice you could possibly have on your other thread, from one Bullmastiff owner to another
I did yes, resulted in a emergency c-section and two pups with Cleft palates - need I go on? This was years ago the surgery alone to keep my bitch safe cost over £600 early hours one Sunday morning.
Don't think so. Do you know anything at all about Bullmastiffs and the risk you are taking with your dog?
rotties are big dogs how many pups do they have? If i was to let my bitch go through with the pregnancy ( thats if she is pregnant) and it all ran smoothly how much will each pup cost me if they were all fine?
Its a risky thing with all dogs not just bullmastiffs, so just because she is a bullmastiff she will have complications???
More thank likely, most never having an easy birth, most resulting in c-sections almost all of the time. http://www.bullmastiffsonline.com/breeding.html
Yes you hit the nail on the head, its risky for all dogs, and even more so with a breeder/owner that doesnt know what there doing, or even know about there breed... setting your self up for a disaster!!
And then you have the worry as to whether they are going to take to the pups, most Bullmastiffs make terrible mothers!
my last litter of 11 cost me £3'200 to rear. There were no real complications or illness for the bitch or pups, had there been it would have been a lot more expensive, I did have to bottle feed the litter from 5 days old though, my bitch just could not cope with them.
I can't help thinking that you've asked for advice, don't like what you've heard so are suggesting that complications are of the minority, even after breeders of various breeds have tried to help you. We are still waiting to hear whether the dog and bitch are health tested and registered, and whether you have a waiting list for puppies...that is, of course, if your bitch is in whelp :?
I only had the one litter from my girl and I swear I'd never breed another Bullmastiff in my life, it was a nightmare from start to finish we used to have to pin her down to get her to feed the pups - which isn't a nice thing to have to do, she wouldn't clean them, toilet them or nothing, she was awful But of course we know nothing ;-)
