This is brilliant - so many people these days are now glued to their phones, with life just passing them by...
So true Azz, so true. Even my neighbour, who I love like a sister and who is, being honest, not the brightest spark - is glued to her phone. I have a basic mobile cellular phone which is only ever switched on if I am out of my home, and is for emergencies only. No way will I ever have a smart phone because to me the last thing they are is "smart".
That is so good! I know a group of people who went out for a meal. Two of them sat there sending text messages to each other, or perhaps it was chatting via Facebook - anyway, it was as if they had forgotten that it was possible to actually talk to someone face to face!
The only people I see walking about glued to their phones are those who are by themselves with no two or four-legged companion. I know that my neighbour, who lives alone and does not have a computer, cannot bear not to be in constant contact with people via her phone, but in her case she only uses it as a phone or as a camera to take photos of her family when she sees them, and has no idea how to even send a text. And every time she comes in here she feels she has to show me all the latest photos.
I don't have that problem I can only see the text on my phone if I have my reading specs and I spend my life losing those.
all to true. I had a tantrum on new years eve as was in the pub with all my friends and every 2 mins they were playing with their phones and going on facebook. We now have a phone pot when together (its an ashtray) and you can only get your phone out if it rings. I think its just plain rude when your in company to start playing with your phone. I also saw my nephew last week, hes 2 and can use the ipad!!! he opened it, found his nursery rhyme app found the song he wanted and set it going, he then danced like a loony to his song. so its not as bad as staring at it playing games but his older brother and sister do that, they have a ipad, nitendo ds and a handheld playstation thing each aswell as the consoles that go on the tv. They also have a limited imagination and dont really know how to play and i think its really sad
