Good grief - she was throwing a stick towards a busy road with loads of fast cars going past, no fence between that bit of field and the road and half a dozen puppies! I am amazed none of them got squashed
I thought it seemed rather foolhardy as well - but it may have been sour grapes on my part! Considering they were only 8 weeks old, their 'instant' downs were very impressive. You could see them getting slower and slower towards the end of the clip - very cute!
to be honest me and my partner said that throwing stick towards a main road for them lovely collies and no fence was stupid but what the dogs actually did was impressive
Nice to see them well trained at such an early age - but did think she was mad with that road being so close!
My instant thought is that the puppies are responding more to what the adult dog is doing rather than the vocal command. If you look at the pups, they are focused on the adult dog, not the lady and following it's every move. I wonder if you'd get the same response if you took away the adult collie and then did the same thing.
