Other breeds have done this and I know there are quite a few on Dogsey. So lets see you Golden Retrievers. I have Meg, she is my first Goldie, won't be the last, she has converted me She is slightly bonkers, does have a fetish for dirty laundry, usually more personal items can be stubborn at times, but has the sweetest personality She spends as much time as possible in water or mud and most days she has a thick layer of mud on her. As you can see from, the pics, she isn't dry and clean very often. So can I have some more Goldie pics please
Thank you, I didn't really want her It was my OH, he persuaded me, but I do love her to bits. She has changed my mind completely about them.
Thank you Dori is a beauty, see she likes socks too. Shoes too, Meg only like to carry them if you have just taken them off she doesn't chew them just walks around with them. The second pic cracked me up, Meg does that just lays on her back all four paws stuck in the air and does that weird smile. They are fun dogs, slightly mental(well, Meggie is)but fun.
Dori likes any underware as long as you have just taken it off She reminds me of a vampire in the second pic Dori carries our shoes around the house when someone comes, she doesnt chew them either (thank god) She is mental., but funny
Well I got bitten by the Golden bug; just couldn't stop at one, golden number four is in the planning faze in their natural habitat Trouble in the making Gracie Stepping out with my ladies Gracie
Beautiful goldens guy's, love their full plummy tails. Sarah Jane, I can't believe you managed to have dry goldens,
Stunning dogs, they look fantastic Number four Wow!!! You will be washed away in a sea of dog fluff. I can't see my carpet at the moment, Meg is moulting so much Do yours have a thing for knickers and socks too????
I've taken the cowards way out, no carpets tiles downstairs wooden floors upstairs, much easier to just mop clean, lol. Ollie has to have something in his mouth went meting anyone at the door, he's not fussy what though, Gracie has a thing for hubby's smelly socks and underwear. Gabby loves my slippers and doc martins, Gabby has also given the window cleaner one of my bra's
What I love most, is that in the house Meg is fairly laidback, especially now she getting more mature, she isn't two yet. But, once she is offlead she has so much fun, they are a lovely playful breed. I think if I had more than one I would have no carpet too
I was sick of washing the carpets every week, Ollie would come home from a walk and roll around till he was dry, now all I do is put a couple of vet beds down till their dry and then chuck them in the wash. Ollie and Gracie are calm around the house oll's is five, Grace four, Gabby hasn't found the relax button yet but she's only ten mths,
Some gorgeous dogs here! Moonstone, what were your preconceptions of Goldens and how were you proved wrong? I'm just interested to know because my sister in law has a pug and my idea of the breed has completely changed! I'm a complete Pug convert ( though I won't be getting one any day soon!)
HAHA, that made me smile! "smelly" and "older persons dog" (no offence to older people - I'm at least halfway there now to my horror) were the two very things that came to my mind with pugs! However Pooch can run with the best of them, if not keep neccessarily up with them, and will play with the family kids all day! I know my sister in law took her on reluctantly but now thinks she's the bees knees!
Four Goldens here, and if everything goes to plan it will be five next year. At the moment we have Nym, she's 10, coming up for 11 in May. Then her daughter Esther, she's 9 in May. Then Esther's niece Mia, she's 6 in May. Then Mia's daughter Lola, she's 2 in June. Then some of them all together. Mia with her son Nugget and daughter Lola Esther, Mia and Lola Lola and Mia
