We are thinking well ahead and are planning on a black lab as our next dog. This won't be for a few years yet but I like to have my homework done! We are going to be looking for a big boy who will do gundog work as well as obedience work. I want a healthy boy with a great temperament and good working drive. Can anyone recommend any good working lab breeders in Scotland? We're not so keen on the short, stocky show types preferring the bigger/taller leaner more worky type. I'm sure I could look some up but personal recommendations are always worth their weight in gold.
I can recommend you someone in Scotland to approach for possibly a pup, or further recommendations, she shows her dogs and they work as well, they are lovely examples of the breed, not as short in the leg as some show dogs (which seems to be thing thing most working folk complain about), very nicely proportioned and have good ability.
