Jack Russell X or just Jack Russell?

We have assumed that our little rescue chap is a Jack Russell X, but so many people say that he is a JR that I am beginning to wonder! I have always had collie xs before, but am new to terriers. Any thoughts welcomed, even derogatory ones.......I can take it:lol:

Jack Russells are pretty vaired in their looks. I certainly wouldn't second guess him as anything but a Jack Russell.

Labradork and Mishflynn - I love you both! Do you mean to tell me that we might actually own a proper dog??!!! Never had one of those before.

Actually, whatever he is we already love him to pieces, and would be proud of him even if he had ten different breeds in his ancestry.

don't be too hasty, the KC don't recognise the dear little Jack, only Parsons
However, Jimmi is IMO 100% JRT! :mini: And almost snap; I have previously owned Border Collies :)

Jack Russells do seem quite varied so it is hard to tell, he looks quite long though for a Jack Russell? Cherry's friend round the corner is a JR X Lhasa Apso but you would never guess the Lhasa bit as she looks just like a Jack Russell.

Looks aren't everything anyway-personality and intelligence matters in dogs. Cherry has one ear up and one ear down which Kerry Blue judges would look on in horror if I took her near a proper show-ring but she is so bright and sassy-we love her anyway!

Jack Russell is used around here for any mainly white dog with the look of a terrier, and they vary in size from Yorkie to Whippet:grin:

I have even seen a litter of black and tan Jack Russells for sale.

Your dog certainly looks lke a Jack Russell = very handsome:001: :001:
