I am very interested in buying my first dog from Wayweb kennel (Staffordshire Bull Terrier), but i am wondering if this kennel is reliable for good genetics, good temperament and overall good dogs. Thank you P.S. This is not my first dog as I have owned a male Chocolate Labrador Retriever before, but this will be my first dog I will have brought myself, also this is my first post Thanks - Matthew Higgs.
I have never heard of them. SBT Parents should be tested and results known for L2 Hga and HC. Parents should be eye screened for PHPV and many good breeders now test the litter before rehoming for this condition. All colours and sex of dog should be the same price. See all paperwork before you take the pup. The other things like how they have been cared for and raised is not so easy to define, you have to see it. Staffords do not do well in a kennel situation and most live in peoples homes. If you want more specific help PM me any information ie KC name of parents and I can look into it for you.
Just had a look at their web site and no mention of any health tests. Claims of champions bred no names just pictures of dogs that could be anyone. Please don't buy from people who do not health test. Just to add I have not been able to find any of their dogs on the KC data based.
Exactly what Leadstaff said! Good post by her, and if you genuinely want a well bred pup, heed her advice.
Well googleing I could only find their own webpage, usually if I am looking at a kennel, and they HAVE bred CH had good results at shows, there will be some links to those wins, or some mention of the CH's so to me it looks like the dogs have not been shown, I also see no mention of health checks or anything, I would be concerned to be honest. the website reads 'we have produced many show winning and champion 'standard' dogs'. This to me means they have bred dogs that, in their eyes would of been show winning/champions but have never actually seen a show ring. How they can know that without actually taking them to a show i don't know. Very misleading:?
In Staffords usually when they say standard dogs they mean breed standard dogs ie 16" at the withers rather than athletic or leggy type usually taller. I think that is what they are saying. None of their dogs look like show champions to me, they could be other kinds of champions though.
