    is my springer too tall!

    Hi all can anyone tell me what the average height of a male springer spaniel is!! My Paddy is the tallest I have seen and I have seen a few! He looks normal to me, but when I see other's he looks too tall! I worried about his weight as a lot of springers I have seen seam stocky, I have been asured by my vet that Paddy is just phsically fit and just not over weight.:blush:

    An adult Springer Spaniel (English that is!) should be 20 inches at the shoulder. Bitches are allowed to be slightly less.

    How old is your Springer? Is he from show or working lines?

    He may seem tall if he's a show type springer as they're generally quite a bit bigger than the field type. :D

    Show springers can go upto 24" !

    He is 21inches at the shoulder, and comes from a working class background!

    Then hes not too big, he wont grow upwards any more.

    They may well do, but the breed standard asks for approximate height of 51cms/20". Therefore the ideal is just that, with some leeway given to those slightly taller/shorter if in proportion.
    Working class I like that! :lol:

    He does sound tall for a worker, nowt wrong with that though! Does he perhaps have some show lines in there?

    More importantly, can we have some pics please! :lol: :D
