I think I might get a Wolf type

Does anyone know where I can get one? I fancy a fox red one that has a bit of husky, wolf, chi and poodle in it.

Basically I don't care where it comes from as long as it looks good and makes me feel cool when I'm out and about with it.

    Any ideas?

Hmmm, but that doesn't quite look cool enough to me and it looks like it would snuggle on the sofa with me. I want something that will rip my throat out while I'm asleep. Ya know?

    Hi Guys

I know you are just having some light-hearted fun (least I hope that's what it is), along with perhaps a hint of contempt for what you feel are unethical breeders (and I'm not just on about this thread - so am talking generally here), but please try to consider the genuine wolfy-looking-dog owners out there - they're not all the same and deserve the same respect and courtesy we would expect to be shown us. It's just as valid for them to prefer dogs that 'look' like wolves as it is for us to want dogs that look like Boxers, or Dobermans, or Mastiffs or any other breed.

I know that at times it seems that many wolfy-looking-dog breeders are unethical, but don't assume there aren't some people who genuinely want to do the right thing in creating a domestic breed that looks more wolf-like.

Look at the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog for example. I'm not saying they're perfect but the people behind this breed seem to be doing their best to represent their breed with professionalism, keeping up to date records (that on the face of it seem honest and concise), answering questions and concerns without taking them as insults, but above all are doing their best to be as transparent as possible so people can decide for themselves (without the guesswork) whether they are or are not ethical. Not to mention they don't seem to be 'churning out' as many pups as some of the others.

I am not endorsing any one breed mind (although am dropping hints how others could learn from the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog people), but merely trying to emphasize that the pet owners out there (ie the ones that don't breed), like Lucky Star and many of our other members who own such dogs should not be made to feel guilty or bad about owing a dog that 'looks' like a wolf, and I'm also pointing out that not all breeders who are trying to create a domestic breed of this type of dog are the same.

Hopefully that gives us all something to think about, and with that said I'm locking this thread.

Oh, just before I go, I want to quickly mention that we will be bringing in new rules regarding talk about breeders and the discussion of people's (specifically our members) breeding practises - keep an eye out in the announcements section!
