    Hi!

    Hello, Fellow Dog-Lovers!

I live in California with my awesome husband, and we have two amazing mixed breed dogs I'm excited to share lots of photos of them, and to get your insight on which breeds might be in their mixes. We love hiking and camping, which our older dog has been a great companion for. As our puppy gets bigger and wonderfully obedient, we are so looking forward to bringing both pups with us on adventures to come!

Riley, the older male dog, is 7 and a half years old. He's so handsome in white with brown spots and bits of distinctive black "trim". He weighs 65 pounds. My husband got him from a rescue when he was a puppy, and he is such a sweet and loving boy! He lives to run, eat and snuggle. He is very sensitive to loud noises, and fireworks, thunder, and sports on TV make him very nervous. Next time we go to the vet, I will ask for information and options to help him relax when it gets really bad. Our neighbors sedated their dog, anticipating him freaking out from hearing the local fireworks. I thought it was brilliant and wish I had thought of it for our guy, sooner! People always come up to us on the street complimenting Riley and asking what breed(s) he is- unfortunately, we don't know! We've heard so many guesses. What do you think? Lab Mix? Carolina Dog Mix? Queensland Heeler Mix? Catahoula Mix? We've heard all these and more. He looked a lot like a Pitbull as a puppy, but his sister looked just like a German Shepherd.

Layla is our precious little girl. She is a 6 month old rescue puppy. Her fur is a mix of copper, sand, and brown (brindle?), with white on her chest, belly and paws. We got her when she was 11 weeks old. Sadly, we were told that she was neglected and starved very early on until she was rescued with one of her litter mates- the others died. So sad! Since Layla suffered starvation and malnutrition early on, she was very small. She's been catching up and now weighs 40 pounds, but might still grow up to be a little small for the breeds we were told are in her mix. They say she is a German Shepherd Dog, Siberian Husky, Pitbull mix, but we're not sure that's completely accurate. Our vet said he thinks she might be part Catahoula, too. She is so sweet, smart, and fun. We've had a blast with her and are so looking forward to more great times ahead with her as the exciting new addition to our family.

    Thanks for reading!

    Cheers,
    V :)
