I recently bought my dog at 12 weeks old i am told he was an accident at a stud farm and is a shar pei x staffy but i dont see staffy in him and his fur is really soft unlike that of shar pei's he has no wrinkles or curly tail but has a square head. he is a fantastic dog but clearly will be large as his paws are huge, so has in some way got a large breed in him i just want to know which. thanks Carl
Have you got any photos you could upload? you could send off for DNA testing but i think it is quite expensive and not always accurate. Also welcome.
im new to this site, i have put link to one pic on photo bucket but i dont know how to add pic to forum. :?
from the little pic of him i can see some staffy but no shar pei at all! Maybe a bit lab?? Did they tell you what breed his mother was?
You need to take the image code http://i775.photobucket.com/albums/yy33/dawson2be/02052010003.jpg and put [ img ] [ /img ]either side of it but with out the spaces and you get:
i was basically told he was the result of a staffy bitch getting to a shar pei dog in a stud farm, the stud farm didn't have the time for the pups and were going to despose of them so he was rescued, he looks like a chunky border collie but is hard to photogaph as he never keeps still.
dont know what he is but he's very cute! The phrase ''stud farm'' does bother me though. Sounds more like a puppy farm!
I see the staffy, but can't say I see any shar pei. Maybe this little staffy bitch made the rounds and had a few contributors to her litter?
In the last pic i can really see the staffy in his head shape. Poor little mite had a horrible start bless him! He is very cute and i love his white sock. x If it was a 'stud farm' i am guessing they have a number of breeds running round so you may never know what makes up the other half. I dont think its shar pei though!
He is so cute I can definately see the Staffy in him and maybe some Collie. It will be interesting to see how he grows so we will need loads of pics as he grows up ;-)
yeah that what we think. he weighs in at over 8kg already and his paws are like rotti pups, i would like to work out what type of breed he is so i can train him correctly as he is getting bigger and trying to be dominent.
I can definitely see the staffy in him his head is very like Bens was at that age (Ben is a staffy x) He is very cute. As for training if you are consistent and reward good behaviour every time, and you are patient and calm he will turn out a well balanced dog ;-)
Agree with the others Really if you use positve methods based on your dogs ability and personality then you dont need to know what breed he is It is fun to guess In what ways do you think he is trying to dominate you? and what training have you been doing?
