Hi Lois - welcome to Breedia from Malka and 5-month-old Tikva :)

My avatar shows my angel Pereg - her name meaning Poppy in English, so welcome to your Poppi and I look forward to seeing lots of photographs of her!

Welcome Lois and Poppi, from Carole, Eddie and Merry the Beagles. I can imagine that that cross would be a handful - busy busy Cocker x Basset nose! She looks very cute though, have you any bigger photos?

    She really is lovely!

I've got a cocker spaniel who always has his nose to the ground (his mission in life is to find food and pheasants) so with a spaniel and basset mix you've got no hope!

Haha! yea she is very motivated by food but her recall isn't always great, she just wants to play with EVERYONE lol. We have only had her about 2 months and i dont think she was trained that much before hand so we are starting training classes this week, fingers crossed she behaves! haha

Big tip if she's food motivate try using smelly cheese should as Stilton, for recall training one of you hold her why other brings cheese close to her to smell, then walk away about 3 to 5 feet away, turn knee down show her cheese & give her your recall command, you will be having her 100% recall safe in minutes.
(Its how I train the puppies in the rescue home)

    She is absolutely gorgeous :007:

My 5-month-old puppy is half Dachshund and she frequently walks around with her nose to the ground, just like a hound. She also howls like a hound as well!
