Hello, I'm a Midwesterner transplant to Arizona. I share our home with my husband of 23 years, 2 very naughty & mischievous teenie tiny Chihuahuas & a Giant Schnauzer who hasn't found her way to maturity yet despite her size. I grew up with parents who bred dogs. I worked in the kennels of their friends. As an adult I became a professional trainer myself & while I worked with any kind of dog or problem, my true love is working dogs or dogs with jobs. I am also a writer & my tiny dogs seem to feel it's there job to hold down my left arm while I work. LOL In two years I've lost two of the biggest loves of my life; my darling old Collie & a little Chihuahua. The Collie's body failed her & had to be laid to rest. The little Chi was killed in a freak accident. Since my dogs are my heart, it takes me awhile to consider bringing another home. I am also a true nerd so I research & talk to anyone who has long time with the breed to gather all the info I can before brining a new pup home. I have worked extensively with members of the herding breeds but I still do my homework as I hope to see all my dogs through a very long life together. So that's how/why I'm here. Nice to meet everyone!
Sad as I am that you lost two of the biggest loves of your live. I look forward to hearing about your other dogs and seeing photographs of them.
