Have you ever had a dog that wasn't typical of its breed?

Has anyone ever had a dog that wasn't quite what you'd expect from the breed?

If so in what way? :101:

Although a mix, Witty is all terrier. However, he completely lacks any sort of killer instinct and was completely trustworthy with our pet rats, and tries to make friends with anything he meets.

Yes I adopted a puppy called Prince from the R.S.P.C.A 26 years ago, we were told he was a Collie, yes he was but a Collie X Afghan he was crazy & by the time he was 6 years old he was totally senile & we at to have him PTS, because he would just sit there rocking then head butt the wall
But he did win many competitions & came 3rd in the happiest dog Competition

I had a Sibe that was a little weird for a his breed. He did not like people so much but he adored children. He would back from an earscratch or any touching from anyone exept me and one of my friends.
He also had a 100% recall even with other dogs charging him and children playing around him and did an amazing job in obedience.
I guess those are weird traites for a Sibe.

I used to have a Parson Russell, he came from working parents but you'd never know it. He was very wary of my cat Domino and always took a large detour around him. On walks he never once showed any terrier traits, had no interest in rabbit holes etc. He was a great little dog who used to come everywhere with me. When I was self employed he'd sit under my desk while I dealt with phone calls etc. and when I was doing deliveries he'd jump in the back of the van where he'd sit on his cushion in the spare wheel. He had no interests except being with me.

Yes, Zack is supposed to be a water rescue dog ( being a Newfoundland) but he hates water and will walk round a puddle. :043::043:
