Ok, here's Max. He's my parents dog. Rescued from Battersea as a Rottweiler x Husky (so they say). He's approximately 3 years old in the photos below. Sorry, those are the best pics ive got of him. But I can prob get more pics this weekend if they're not good enough. Wondered what everyone thought he was crossed with? He's black and tan, with a greyish tinge to his coat. Height wise he's in between Labrador and Rottie size and quite built. Got a very high prey drive, but also some herding. Cannot be let off the lead at all at the moment as he disappears off after a rabbit and will go for 3 hours or so before finding his own way home His coat is wirey (sp?), and quite thick. Think thats about it.
Theres deffinately terrier! Thats all I can say Maybe a bit of Airedale for the size and the tail, Cairn/JRT/GWP for the wire hair Rottie x husky - what? I know a rottie x husky - I know a few and they look nothing like him and are not wirehaired
Yes I thought Airedale possibly too? I never thought of GWP. I assume that stands for German Wirehaired Pointer. Looking pretty close.
Yeaah he has a JRT type face, with a GWP fur about it and those eyes look terrier type too...I wouldnt put it past him if he is just a mix of terriers, although looking at the nose, it could be lab or collie...I'd just say he was a heinz 57 and leave it at that He's gorgeous anyway
He is glorious!!! A complete one off (but that ubiquitous collie is bound to be in there somewhere) so if I were you I would make up your own breed name to fit him.
...... bdh tend to make it up as they go along!!!.... nope defo not a sibe cross.....the kennel staff need glasses and a bit more exp with dogs imo ;-)
