How much difference is there in GSDs from show and working lines? I know that the working lines will most likely be more driven, and have stronger instincts etc but I was wanting to hear from people with experience in what exactly they find to be the difference... So, what are the main differences, and to what extreme? (obviously in general, as even dogs from the same litter can differ).
Having watched, observed and judged GSD from both ends of the spectrum it is their general attitude to life, very different energy levels, drive, outlook etc. It is more noticeable in Schutzhund where attitude is everything.
I have a showline and a working line of similar age. Their energy levels are the same, but the drive is different. It is hard to explain but Kofi (working line) is much more focused. He is also more clear headed but also more serious... I have loved all my showlines with all my heart but having now had a working line, I wouldn't get another showline.

I prefer working line GSD and would never own a showline one. I like their attitude to life, for me Attitude is everything. It cannot be "trained" in.
