Coming off the train with Daisy GSD and Shamus GSP, I overheard a young couple behind talking about Daisy. He was telling his girl that `those German Shepherds are just the best dogs ever....they use them for police dogs you know...they`re excellent...` Then he went on to relate enthusiastically how he`d been chased by one " It was jet black...and you could see its eyes glowing...it was amazing. And you wouldn`t believe how fast it caught up with me...! ` Unfortunately they turned the corner and I never did hear the rest of it. Still - for any police dog handlers out there - you`ll be pleased to hear your work is appreciated.
What a great story i hear things along those lines often about how when people were young they were chased by a GSD the thing that make me laugh is that how some people don't expect this breed to be like that because of there uses in the forces but like most pastoral dog they have an inbuilt chase and round up instinct as well as being protective so if as a kid you are just skating a long the GSD will just bring you down as if to save you from those funny wheels on your feet lol
