GSD exercise - dog scooter or bike ?

Tagged my quiery onto another gsd thread & it was suggested I started a new one so.....
Does anyone use a dog scooter or bike (with attachment) to exercise their gsd's?

have you ever seen a GSD doing this form of excercise?

Sadly Zak has HD so no chance but Zeita might be a good candidate

I might have a look into it cos they are strong dogsd I don't see why they can't

I've seen a couple of people using a bike (& springer attachment) with a gsd but never a scooter.
I'm wondering if it would be a sensible form of exercise for the breed (obviously after satisfactory hip/elbow scores).

Know of several GSD people who use a bike with a springer but I never have, not because of dogs but because I never mastered riding a bike, fell off going round corners, but often wished I could. Have to admit I've never seen any one with a scooter.

    Hi there,

I used to use one with my Weimaraner - sorry not a GSD !!

She is 12 years old and is still in fine fettle hips etc wise.

I only used it on semi soft surfaces though like forest tracks etc. I dont think that a large amount of sustained exercise on hard surfaces is very good for any breed of dog.

Good luck with it :) I do beleive that they sell these attachments in Pets at Home ???

    Cheers

    Rachel

I would definately be too scared to try with Kahn, it's hard enough to stop if he gets moving, with my two feet let alone something with wheels

Let us know how you get on, and don't forget some pics if you go ahead with it :D

1 of mine used to take the local kids for sledge rides, but wouldnt like to try with a scooter or a bike, as mine have high prey drives.

Our ute has quite a high prey drive too but on the whole once attached to the scooter he's more focused than when off lead. Did have a scary moment last week when a rabbit decided to run the gauntlet in front of us:lol:
I'm not 100% sure about the gsd on the scooter now so having a rethink:-( If anyone can suggest a healthy line which would a) be suitable b) enjoy this type of activity & c) make a good take anywhere family pet also please let me know:grin:
Colley1275 bet the Weimeraner enjoyed it:grin: I hear what you're saying about hard surfaces. I'm lucky that the local track I use is partly manmade (by walkers/bikes) so ideal:grin:
