How about all the GSD owners telling us why they own shepherds and posting a pic or pics I have owned shepherds for the past eight years, which was basically as soon as my circumstances were right for me to own my own dog. Since I was a child I had always loved and longed for a German Shepherd (or Alsatian as they were better known as back then!). I read lots of Joyce Stranger books when I was younger and many of her books were about or included a GSD. I wanted to become a police dog handler from a young age too so that also fuelled my love of this breed. As far as temperament goes, I love their loyalty, devotion, intelligence, trainability and versatility. I love their noble looks and especially the longcoats. I will always own at least one German Shepherd. So, c'mon GSD owners - tell me all about yours! Here are a couple of pics of my girl Flame. And my favourite pic of Flame so far ...
She is beautiful moobli! I have never had a German shepherd but Brandie is half one. She likes the sound of her own voice like they do My mum has owned a couple and there is one next door as well. I think they are amazing dogs. They look gorgeous and have a great personality. They're loyal, loving, intelligent, and lots of fun. I was going to get a german shepherd and the rescue centre was full of them here. But unfortunately they were all very large and strong on the lead so were not right for me as a first dog. I love Brandie though so I do not regret that. I will look for some photos of my mum's german shepherd soon.
Well here are the photos I could find of my mum's dog scooby And one of her dog that I never knew, but I think his name is Champ. Hope you like them
Awww Flame is soooo beautiful Moobli Scooby is cute and so is Champ And of course Brandie is gorgeous I met my first German shepherd when I was around 3 yrs old and she was my nan's. Her name was Cindy and she was soooo lovely. I was hooked from then really. When I got married and we moved into our house we felt the time was right to have a dog so we got Sheba who was a GSD x Retriever. I think she had a lot of GSD traits and she was a loving loyal dog. And now I have my very first GSD and will be getting my 2nd in late Feb I love GSD's because they are loyal, intelligent, great family dogs and i just love the way the talk back to you. I think that is one of their most endearing quality's
