    Found a New Groomer

The backstory began over the summer when I brought home a pup from our local groomer who also does rescue. I fell in love with Bootsy at first sight while they were trimming Callie's nails. Big oaf that he is they could have a llama standing next to him and he'd smile and wag. They waived the fee and the groomer was so pleased that Bootsy finally found a great home.

By late that night Sophie had attacked Bootsy and left a deep leg wound. I felt so sad, embarrassed, mad at Sophie and so disappointed it couldn't work out, sorry for Bootsy getting hurt, feeling almost responsible for Sophie being her unstable self. So needless to say I was too embarrassed to return there for grooming. Plus Bootsy is still there even now waiting for a home...makes me hurt seeing her.

Finding someone comfortable with grooming one dog built like a tank and another who all but pees herself in fright isn't easy. But today I stopped at the groomer in PetSmart. I used to work for PetSmart so I know the quality of employees they end up with sometimes. Not my first choice for groomers. But the girls in the particular store were so sweet, authentically sweet not just sucking up to dog owners.

I asked the young lady...with the nine ear piercings...how comfortable she was with the bull breeds. I found out the answer when I came back later with Callie. Mr. Ladies Man, he stood in there surrounded by all these girls rubbing and petting and kissing...wagging and grinning for all he's worth. He did splendid! Sophie too, for her she did well.

Didn't take her eyes off of me of course. The only problem became how to pay. I couldn't wait in line and chance her getting close to another dog. The girl was happy to keep her in the office until I paid at the cashier. As soon as I left the room I heard the rapid fire hysterical barking...it stopped as soon as I got back to her of course. We'll definitely go back there again.
