I know what I want to say but its proving hard to put into words so please bare with me! There have been so many threads about NI's and Utes that have turned into arguements/hot-blooded debates and many have contained personal remarks. It is a credit to the breeders and owners of these dogs that they are so passionate, and it is also worth noting than the same dissagreements happen in many breeds. I know how much it hurts when things get personal after being "attacked" and questioned about the breeding of one of my kelpies which the person had never met and was not aware had passed away (please note this was a seperate forum). I guess what I want to say is that these dogs are beautiful and stunning, and the ones I have met have superb temprements. Some of the owners let them down due to their own attitudes/beleifs etc. whereas others really do credit to the breed. IMHO all the "cloudy waters" around the origin of the breed will be forgotten in time, not soon granted, but in a couple of hundred years ;-) and if anyone is interested in owning one of these dogs because of the positive experiences you have had whilst meeting them but do not want to get involved in all the to-ing and fro-ing (considering that this factor may put people off the breed). Ask yourself what you want from the dog, investigate breeders, have said puppy, keep in touch with breeder, dont get involved with anything else and have a long and fulfilled life with your much loved hounds! leave the others to get on with the arguing. Enjoy your dogs guys (please feel free to post lots of piccys and anecdotes/funny things your dogs do here for me and others to look at and read), at the end of the day they are yours nomatter where they came from or what is happening in other lines, it is that dog that you live with and that you love. hope that made some semblance of sense! H x
Thank you for starting such a nice thread, We love our dogs and are very happy with our chosen breed, I keep in touch with the breeder to let them know how our wonderful dogs are doing. I along with many other NI owners share our photos, and stories and love to read posts about other dogs. Please will others with so much to say about my choice of dog accept it is my choice to own an NI. Peace and Goodwill to all Merry Christmas Everyone
Aww Kicks what a nice thought Though my Mack isn't a full Ute, he is a very special boy, and I am soo happy he is mine. He can be cheeky and naughty, a little b***er sometimes , but he so loving and fun I love him to bits.Life is never dull with him around I really do believe that most N.I /Utonagan owners just want to keep out of all the politics, it is just difficult when your dogs are being pulled apart. When they have done nothing wrong. All the problems are human, there is nothing wrong with the dogs. They are fantastic! So a very Merry Christmas to all Northern Inuit and Utonagan owners , their dogs and their admirers xxxxxxxx BIg woos and slobbers from Mack xxxxx
Thank you I adore my dogs & obviously it hurts when people are so hostile towards their very existence. Thank you for your support Kicks.
What a lovely message. Thank you for taking the time to write it. xxxxxx Merry Christmas to you all from me and Loki. xxx
well said kicks, i ADORE these dogs, and personally all breeds start abit muddled... it doesnt matter, their pedigree does not alter the fact that they are you own wonderful, gorgeous hounds..... so bring on the NI/Utes!!!! merry xmas alex xx
Well said , I personally love these dogs and love reading about them and viewing pics of them on the forum . xxdk
What a kind and humane post. I don't normally let myself argue, but there were some with issues with my 'predicament' recently and the decisions I took most likely through being unprepared and inexperience. However, that is now in the past. I love the NI, amongst many other breeds, but the joy I get from 'my pack' is invaluable.
Thanks for writing that Kicks - very nice to hear. And i really must get round to posting some photos lol x
