Am waiting for comformation saying K9 can go with me as my medic alert dog (can't just turn up have to have permission first) if it comes then I be going with the rest of The Rescue Home trainers on Friday for working group one of the trainers is going to be showing a Rottweiler the other 2 trainers is in the obedience class & on Saturday the breeder where I got K9 from is showing his Parson Russell Terrier & the 2 trainers are once again in the obedience class with 2 different dogs. If comformation for K9 don't come then I only be going on Sunday with the owner of The Rescue Home.
Thanks Malka I wasn't going to go this year, but the trainers applied for clearance for K9 after they found out I had stabbed my foot with craving knife, (bit of give away when turned up with crutches & an neon pink bandage on foot) my hand seized up & the knife slipped out stabbing top of foot, so if conformation does come I be going Friday Saturday & Sunday if no conformation just on Sunday xx
Rules for service dogs must be very different from US rules. Here there would be no question or any permission needed for K-9 to attend. It would be a violation of both federal and state law to block his attendance or to even ask about your disability.
K9 can go anywhere in the UK accept Crufts due to the rules, there's only 20 -30 places for service dogs to attend & normally these places go quickly.
taken from the KC site......... If he is a registered service dog, them why do you need permission...??
I don`t understand that, how do they know how many disabled people are going to turn up with their service dogs, they cant turn them away surely ?
@Jackie yes K9 is registered but I still got turned away in 2013 because I hadn't per-arranged with the KC/Crufts that I would be bringing K9 with me, I didn't know that I at to informed the KC that I was bringing my medic alert dog, so was unable to go in even though I had K9's Medic Alert Registration papers vets card & details of when last flead/wormed, so now I always make sure before I go anywhere that they know I will be bringing my medic alert dog with me x
Got confirmation for K9 to go Crufts but only for Friday & Saturday not for Sunday, but not really bothered about Sunday as going with Rescue Home owner, 1 of the Rescue Home managers, 2 Policemen (brother & lodger) & niece who is seeking to find more info on pugs from discovery dogs section.
Well do have a empty £2, 000 credit card that needs breaking in, plus about £750 in cash, am going to laughing dog, Viovets & pet munchies stalls first then who knows where I end up xx
If anyone is going to Crufts on Saturday my wife Sue will be on the discover dogs stand for Border Terriers, so do say Hi to her
Im`m on the DD stand for PWD on Saturday afternoon, was hoping to go see if Dawn was on there... would be nice to catch up with her .
