I expect Shona will be along soon, she is the oracle when it comes to Rotties. In the meantime could you post some pictures as they are very popular on this forum!

I've got a little rottie (we'll she's not so little anymore) She goes out for a hour and a half in the week. At the weekends we take her for about 3hour walk - Including time off the lead.

    Seems to suit her fine!!

My numpty neighbours have got a lovely rottie who NEVER gets taken out  He told me (after i kept nagging them about it) that they don't need to go for a walk as they are guarding dogs   :-( it's so very sad for the poor dog :-(

Your baby is just scrumptious  he looks full of mischief  ;-)

    Hi Gareth, Bruce is lovely,

can I ask what sort of walking routine he has just now?

often with rotties shorter more regular walks of 20 to 30 mins are great with as much socialization as possible, try to make sure each walk hes meeting dogs, people, traffic, if you live in an area with duck ponds, get him down there, also things like small petting farms,
the key with this breed is to introuduce them to as much as possible as early as possible in a calm controled manner.

A good training class will also help with his social skills,

Hi Shona, I have lots of walks around were i live as i live in the country we have fens all around my houes with streams and ponds. I am currenty taking Bruce on 1 walk of 30min's a day as i dont wont to over do him at such a young age and put to much growth on his muscles before his bones are ready.

    thanks for the photos gareth,

he looks like hes very laid back,

I would say if possible, give him another shorter walk of say 10/20 mins with a good break in between his walks,

or you could do two 20 min walks each day, one am one pm
