I'm sure with her being a very large breed and all. It is just the first pic she is noticeably bigger/taller.
I'm not size obsessed as some seem to be but I do take the odd measurement. Yes she's stretching - (32") at the back (43") at the head but it's a rough measurement. Yes she's a big girl but I'm more focussed on getting her diet right and most importantly - keeping her exercise routine in keeping with her age. It's a shame to say no when she forever wants to stretch those legs but at this age it's gently does it. Such a difference to my Springers which I'm relaxed about. All good fun though.
She is taller than I thought from the pics too. I've heard the same about Danes as far as diet and exercise. I understand it is important consideration while they are growing.
Aye - the pics are deceptive. She's slightly taller than the average bitch of her age but that means nothing just now. At this age they grow in spurts and stops. One day they may be above average - the next they may fall behind. I find folk get obsessed with size with large breeds and they shouldn't. I will let them be whatever they will be and do my upmost to ensure I look after the correct diet and exercise.
