What dog bowls do you all use, metal dog bowls, Dog Embossed Bowl, Ceramic, plastic, Elevated Dog Bowls, Automatic Dog Bowls, Melamine Dog Bowl. I use 6 Dog Embossed bowls for water I have 6 metal bowls & 6 Melamine serving plates for their food the Metal Dog Bowl have dry food in & the melamine serving plates have meat (fish for K9) on them.
I have heavy ceramic bowls for water, and stainless steel ones for food. Each dog has his own food bowl, which he licks thoroughly clean, and then each dog will go to to the other two bowls and give them a good licking too - even though there's nothing left to lick!
Chloe, Georgina and Sahicat have matching ceramic bowls ....... purple inside and white with purple paws on the outside. Like the three bears in Goldilocks they're different sizes .... small for Sashi, medium for Chloe and large for Georgina. Georgie though likes to eat out of Sashi's bowl (she's partial to cat food) and if that's not available she'll eat out of Chloe's bowl. Chloe usually ends up eating out of Georgie's bowl and Sashi eats out of all three! Their water is in a large orange plastic bowl. Their bowls were their birthday presents. The photo was taken before Sashi's 5th birthday which was last September.
Because of space problems, Pereg's water is in a rectangular food quality plastic container, about the size of a large ice-cream carton. Her first "wet" meal, which she has in the kitchen is in a stainless steel bowl like this with rubber edging so it does not go walkabout. Her second, bone meal, she has on a sheet of oilcloth on the floor in the salon. Mainly so I can make sure she does not choke on anything - not that she has ever done so B"H
I should get the bowls with the rubber edging like Pereg's - it's very noisy here at mealtimes with the bowls moving around! Bogie always hopefully picks one up when they're all empty and carries it around, hoping I'll refill it I suppose.
My dobermanns have stainless steel bowls in a raised container like this Diesel the staffie has a stainless steel bowl sometimes raised and sometimes not. Frankie the terrorist has a stainless steel bowl on the ground, The Pugs eat off melamine plates because if they use a bowl the lights go out as their heads fill the bowl
Apparently, all the standard poodles belonging to Pepe's breeder (about six I think) eat lying down. She was astonished that Pepe didn't. He's the second standard I've had, and Max ate standing up in the normal way as well, so why hers lie down I really don't know. Does anyone here have a dog who eats lying down?
White ceramic 'human' cereal bowls and a ceramic water bowl. Both easy to clean and sterilise . I don't like plastic, it taints and some dogs don't like metal bowls.
My lot have stainless steel for water too and also a black plastic builders bucket cos Dobermanns like to dunk their heads and blow bubbles out of their nose, or maybe that's just my nutters.
Phoebe has a huge pink flexi bucket for water. She drinks alot and also makes so much mess i find the bucket catches most of it before it ends up all over my floor. She has a stainless bowl for food. It used to be raised but now its on the floor and if im feeling mean i dont use the bowl atall i chuck the food all over the floor and let her spend 10 mins hovering it all up. I used to do it in garden, when i had one
Georgina's a very neat eater but so, so messy when she's had a drink of water. If I don't catch her in time and wipe her drippy chops with a towel she'll wander around leaving puddles everywhere!
Thats what phoebe does. She also doesnt lap water up she sticks her mouth in the water and sloshes it about
